Volume 2 of the Art School Without Walls, finds Los Galeristas Adolescentes pairing up with H Veng Smith and Sofia Maldonado to produce a mural on the corner of 5th st @ Ave. D on the Lower East Side. The Art School Without Walls revives the spirit of apprenticeship in the arts, by pairing inner-city teens with working artists in the making of significant works of public art. This project was made possible by a generous donation from the artist Retna, and in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Armin van Buuren (born in Leiden, Netherlands on 25 December 1976) is a Dutch trance producer and DJ. In 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 he was voted number one in DJ Magazine's annual top 100 list of the most popular DJs. This makes him the first DJ ever to receive 4 consecutive #1 titles. [1] Since 2001 van Buuren has hosted a weekly radio show called A State of Trance and claims to have over 30 million weekly listeners in more than 40 countries, which would make it the most listened radio show in the world. His 2008 studio album, Imagine, entered the Dutch album chart at #1, a first for a dance artist in Dutch music history.[2] Armin van Buuren has always had his own studio and worked alone in the beginning of his career. Since the release of his third studio album Imagine from 2008 he has been working with Benno de Goeij of Rank 1 on all solo productions and remixes. He is well known for his annual "Year Mix" which incorporates clips and custom mashups from the year's most popular trance tracks. This small fact however has done nothing to deter his appearance on a fantastic new record called That Money he made together with Dutch DJ Irwan. Rappers as a rule generally aren't the types to let external circumstances dictate whether or not they are making music. Both Notorious BIG and Tupac have continued to have illustrious and profitable (for someone) careers from beyond the grave, which makes something as minor as a custodial prison sentence seem almost trivial by comparison. Besides these criminal facts Lil Wayne was the best selling artist of 2008 in the States, his album "Tha Carter III" sold 1 million copies in one week. The first three singles released from the album, "Lollipop", "A Milli", and "Got Money" all achieved Top 10 success on the Billboard Hot 100. The track "Lollipop" been hit more than 10 million downloads. That Money is pure gangster, with Lil Wayne waxing lyrical across some heavy beats to that favourite of all rap topics - the acquisition of wealth. 'I wear them skinny jeans so you see my fat wallet' states our boy. Probably a fashion statement best left until his release, but this aside the track has the potential to go supersonic.
